We are in the process of redo...I love green walls. We are in the process of redoing our basement and I had to force myself to pick a color other than green, because we already have so much green in the house. Bright colors scare me though. I agree with the previous commenter who said to try a sample first. I painted my "office" recently after falling in love with a pretty pink on a paint strip, and on the walls it looks like Pepto-Bismol. Wish I had sampled it first.

I really like your stripey couches and think you chose a lovely color for the walls. As for your dilemma with the windows, how about a bunch of sheer panels? If you get enough they can look very full and not like individual panels.
And, I'm not a valance fan either, but I recently have been thinking of making a cornice for our dining room window, that way I can choose my own fabric and it seems a bit more finished to me than hanging valances. Plus, I think it looks like a fun project.

Here is pretty good tutorial using foam board:
http://www.diynetwork.com/how-to/how-to-make-a-foam-core-cornice/index.html
I have seen other tutorials also - you seem handy, I bet you could make an awesome one!janimalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11916480082033700432noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2954397637576892110.post-42861678314970625082010-03-03T09:28:43.548-05:002010-03-03T09:28:43.548-05:00I LOVE green...I've had about 20 rooms painted...I LOVE green...I've had about 20 rooms painted every shade of green. Haha! SO, that being said, I'm a little biased.

But, especially if you are using neutrals in your living room, I think it would be a fun contrast. And green and turquoise are fun together.

Plus, it's JUST paint. You can always repaint it! You might want to try a sample though before you go with the whole room. I've had way too many bright colors turn out, well, let's just say NOT how I wanted them too.

If you want a more conservative option, you could stick with a neutral on the wall, and use really bright and fun accessories to liven it up.

Good luck! Can't wait to see what you do with it!Caroline @ The Feminist Housewifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14042647064869326025noreply@blogger.com
